A Farewell Fundraiser at the International School of
Miss Farrell (Vikki) and Mr. G (Frankie) said goodbye to the children from their school! We were overwhelmed by so much enthusiasm from all 410 participating kids and their 37 teachers. The high school even surprised us, they had previously done their own fundraising called the “Stayawakeathon”, with which they generously donated towards our cause!
All together we were blessed with a total raised amount of €433!
The kids were engaged in our project through an interactive presentation. And by donating to our cause, they either got a cupcake or a Vanderful sticker, and were able to leave their mark on our van. They made the Kombi look so pretty, with all their colourful hands on it!
Over the course of six presentations, all the children from age 1.5 to age 19 watched an entertaining sneak peek into our project. The kids got the chance to show their surfing skills: “paddle like a shark it’s right behind you!” Vikki explained her drama workshop by doing interactive games “show us your happy faces!”. We are very proud and happy, with so much involvement, the children were able to contribute and help us raise some funds. We wish to thank all of those amazing kids, and everyone else who attended.
It’s been two and a half years since Vikki and Frankie started teaching at the International School of Walvis Bay (ISWB). And going from the enthusiasm of all the children, those years really made a difference. It’s very inspiring to see two people in their element. Engaging the children in their exciting new project. Yes, it is sad that their time at the ISWB has come to an end. But at the same time, you have to be glad that more children can now enjoy such passionate teaching.
Give children a chance to play.

Expressive Arts exceeded all my expectations! My daughter grew in confidence and overcame so many anxieties. Being part of this brought out the BEST in all those who took part and was the MOST memorable experience here, by far!
Namibia needs more teachers like you!
